老歌亂談(1208)Break My Mind

此曲為美國歌手兼詞曲作家John D. Loudermilk所寫，這位老兄唱歌不怎麼樣，卻曾寫出多首暢銷曲，像是The Casions的《Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye》( 1967 / No.6 )、Paul Revere & the Raiders的《Indian Reservation》( 1971 / No.1)。

此曲最早是George Hamilton在1967所發行的版本，不知是歌好聽還是當時好歌太少，至1976的十年期間，就有近50個翻唱版本，且其中不乏知名歌手像是Glen Campbell、Jerry Lee Lewis、Anne Murray等。以下所貼是Linda Ronstadt的版本，收錄在她1969首張錄音室專輯《Hand Sown … Home Grown》中，當時的她應也沒料想到自己日後會成為超級紅歌星吧！

不知怎的，聽到這首歌讓我想起了曾介紹過的《Queen of Heart》，Juice Newton看來已有些年紀，但台風和歌唱技巧卻已臻另一層次，不禁要為她鼓個掌、按個讚，就一併帖上了。
